For inquiry, the senior hub were shown unjust topics were able to choose which one they wanted to talk about. Obviously, my group chose abortion. Abortion is a serious topic around the world and should not be talked out. It may be unjust but it all depends on the reason why. Read at your own risk.

Poupou Art Reflection

Poupou Art Reflection

I accomplished combining cool and warm colour contrast in my artworks so
that the colours don’t clash. I am very satisfied with my artwork because it is
very symmetrical, smooth and scary which was my goal during the process.
I found it easy to make too mirrored copies of my pou pou. In the process, I
found it challenging to work with a limited amount of colours on each side,
because of the warm coloured side and the cold coloured side. I need to work
on adding more details such as maori patterns and being able to think beyond
with my art. If I were to change anything, I would change the arms and head
as they are both much bigger than the body. I would change the design of my
pou pou.

Inquiry Reflection - Global Warming

Inquiry Reflection

I am satisfied with my presentation as it displays the gif (animated/moving) images at the correct time I placed it and also has valuable information showcasing how to get rid of Global Warming.

During the process of creating my presentation I discovered more about the app I used (Powtoon) and even through typing information down that I didn't know about, I learned more about things such as the greenhouse gas, C02 and more.

Throughout creating my inquiry project I fell upon challenges like summarising information I found, placing images at the right time and also figuring out how to use Powtoon.

If I were to change anything at this moment I would chose an easier app and go more in depth with the information by explaining what some things were.

My partners Neesha and Zariah helped and provided good sites with valuable information that we were able to display and simplify in kid language.

To modify this I would use a more serious or fast music to encourage emotions of cautiousness for Global warming.

Overall, I am most proud of how the presentation came out with no doubt.

Analysing Foods

 A few weeks ago, a group of students from my school walked to New World in Mt Roskill. We were given a piece of paper by a woman that had a bunch of columns. The columns are shown in this presentation. We had to write down 2 different types of meals for each section and write down the amount of sugar, fat etc from the per 100g section. I have chosen to present my work on a google slide.

For term 1's Inquiry the whole hub (Rooms 1,2 & 3) were creating questions about environmental issues we face (Sustainability). My group created presentation on Global Warming using Powtoon. We found this information using google and YouTube videos.

This afternoon, when Mr Hopkins came in he showed us a padlet that we had to write all the different ways of 

 What a Quality comment is? I have learned what you can put on a Quality comment, for example giving Helpful suggestions and positive feedback is very good. Then we went on to Room 23's blog at Owairaka District and they had wrote great Quality comments. After we read the comments, we watched two youtube videos that showed how to write a Quality Comment. After that we went back to our padlet and edited it more to show even more ways we can write a Quality comment.

Today we learnt how we can earn money and why we should save it.

Gary our teacher said its good to start when you're young because you can have more when you're older. You can get money by earning pocket money or when you want to have something to eat and drink.

You can earn money by selling your old toys, making sausage sizzles and drinks or doing things for other people like their laundry or mow their lawn.

You should save your money because if you use all your money on lollies you wouldn't have any money left, if you chose to save a little bit of money and use a little that is a good choice so at least you get something but don’t use all of it.

You have a choice to save it in a bank or  in your own piggy bank but if you choose to get a loan from the bank you will have to pay them the same amount of money you gave to them. If you don’t pay them then you get arrested and charged all of that money in one week, month or year depending on how much you borrowed from the bank.

if you put money in the bank then you get more money from the bank each time they pay just for putting your money in the bank. If you put it in your own little piggy bank then you will have the same amount of money that you put in their. When you put money in the bank you get three present and that's how you get your money from them but if you put it in your piggy bank then you have zero present that’s why you have the same amount of money that you put in there.

It’s your choice if you want to put it in the bank or in your piggy bank so I think I would go for the bank because if you have a burglary and you have your money in a piggy it can get stolen and then they will take all your money.

I think that having your money in a bank is safer and because they pay you for just having your money with them in the bank.
