Stardome Reflection

Stardome Reflection
On wednesday the Ctk seniors went to the stardome located on one tree hill. We learnt things such as:

  • 109 earths can fit across the sun. (width)
  • Mercury spins faster than other planet because the sun’s gravity is very strong and if it doesn’t spin fast enough it will fall into the sun
  • It takes one year for the earth to orbit around the sun
  • There are more than 300 planet that the people on earth know about.

Ten words that have to do with space are gravity, solar, Kuiper belt, Meteoroids, Asteroids, Comets, Planets, Hydrogen, Helium & galaxy. My 2 questions were : Do stars twinkle & Why do the planets orbit? were both answered as in stars do not twinkle and planets orbit around the sun so that they don’t fall into it.
